I religiously try different products such as Techron, Seafoam Lucas gas treatments. I've tried Mobil One synthetic and Royal Purple synthetic before moving on to Rotella T6. I originally used KNN oil filters before moving onto Mobil One #301 filter. I clean the intake and carb as Disco Mike suggests every other oil change.

Currently will be adding (on order) a digital oil pressure gauge from Cyberdyne to compliment the Ultra Gauge.

Thanks!

All of that crap is a huge waste of money, just use good gas and dont worry about it.
Just think of all the gas you could have bought with all the money you wated on additives and over priced oil and filters.
I average 15mpg per week, thats with ARB winch bumper, SD roof rack and 206k on the motor.
Rotella in the crank case.
NAPA oil/air filters.
Cheap 85w-140 in the drive line.
Shell premium fuel.
Cooper S/T's at 40psi.
Cheap $.99 spark plugs.
Drive like grandma, use the cruise, windows up...simple.

Only highway and live on flat land. Seem to stay constant at 19.5mpg

It goes way down with anything city though. I don't do much city driving.

I get 12 in the city and 14-16 highway depending on how loaded down I am.. cruise is a must windows up or down I have not really found a difference.. I use lucas fuel treatment every 3rd fill up. I like to think it helps... who knows.. no other additives. highest octane I can get. rotella 15w40 dino. but in the end I really do not care about the gas mileage. I made the choice to own one and now I just drive it, fix it, drive it, fix it.. and enjoy it all the time. I keep track of MPG to help me monitor for an issue..

I recently made a trip from Chicago to NYC, and then down to philly, then back to chicago... The overall trip was a ton of miles in a short time, and my average mpg was about 17.5 for the whole trip... About 95% was highway speeds between 65 & 80 (yeah I know I shouldn't push the truck like that)... Other than this trip I usually average 14 city & 17 highway. I usuallyfigure it out with every fill up

Went up to Maine and back with a completely stock D2 right after I did head gaskets on it and then ran that engine oil cleaner through it which cleaned out a LOT of gunk in the 5 minutes that I let it idle at.

@ 70mph for 330miles (each way) it averaged at 20mpg
