Yes all steel, do not know any thickness or weight or anything yet, right now I am trying to get a feel for a customer base, if I only have demand for 5 then its not worth it, but if I have demand for 500 thats another story.
So just like any up start buisness I need to do my research which is what I am doing now.
I have a fabricator in mind but I need to gather intel and then sit down with him and present a buisness plan so that he and I can both pad our IRA's.

If you don't get greedy, you can do pretty good.. A piece of advise, If you have a college around with a welding class, Get in good with the instructor, and give the students the "opportunity" for some practice.

Spike - Are you looking at doing something like DiscoMikes? If so sign me up. I love the look.

Half the plastic cover on mine broke when it got hung up on a stump. I'm already looking at paying in the $500-800 range to replace the bumper, and I don't feel like going stock... Then again, I don't really want to have to upgrade my front springs just to replace the bumper either.

Nice find! I guess I'll have to keep an eye out at the junk yards, now.

so much great stuff to be had at junkyards.

I got a rear access ladder (genuine) for $20 and two Land Rover steel wheels with un-used tires on them for $100.

Kinda, it will be similar looking I guess but with a few upgrades.
Nice solid recovery points, maybe jack points too, and a place to mount your CB antenna or a safety flag for the sand dunes.
Maybe even a better grill guard to keep a tree branch from piercing your radiator.
Oh, and maybe the mounts for limb risers too.
All of this is speculative right now, the final design has yet to be determained.
And depending on the cost of steel and the type of coating/paint that goes on it will depend on what it sells for.
