If you swap the ECU, don't you also have to swap the BCU and the cluster as well?

I can't say for certain. Neither of my trucks have SAI thank goodness.

that 5/8x20TPI is a good old British thread count for older cars and motorcycles.... I also see it in some of my model steam machine builds 1/2 x 20 for example...and also 26's and 40's....and other fine threads... ugghhhh

OP: beautiful work on the machining!!

Yes, unless you have the tool to reprogram them. You also have to swap the fuel pump, as the SAI pump is different.

Thanks!

I suspected it was something old and British, but, come on- the Disco 2 isn’t that old. I suspect we will never know the answer as to why that thread was chosen- there’s probably only one old guy, long since retired, in Solihull England who knows the answer.

Also, the thought of a 40 TPI fastener hurts my head a little.

hurts my head too...40's took me an hour to set up gears on my lathe and compensate for play to cut them.....there are a bunch of wacky British ME (model engineer) sizes....the whole 'inch' system drives me nuts(especially the taper pipe threads)....I'll take metric any day....
