My DISCO needs tires. Any suggestions?
It is time to by new "shoes" for my Discovery and I want to get the best performing all-season tires I can. I an interested in your thoughts on brands and models.
A guy at the Dealership suggested Michelin Latitude Tours. Looking for other options or suggestions. Thanks!

What kind of driving do you do? How much off road and what kind of off road? What is your price range? Brand preferance?
www.tirerack.com is a good place to shop and get ideas. Buy locally though, after shipping and paying for mounting and balancing you will pay more most times.

I would like to keep the tires under $150 each if possible. Brand, I don't care.

Right now I have Michilin LTX M/S's on my trk. They are what came on it when I bought it, they were almost brand new, less than 10,000 miles on them.
They are a great ride, good in the rain, not bad off road and just ok in the snow.
How much snow do you get per year?

Located in Northern IL, we get a fair amount of snow and ice.
These look good: CrossContact LX

I second the Michelin LTX M/S. We ran them on the family Yukon twice and got around 70k out of them each time. A little spendy, but a great tire.
Assuming, you have 16" wheels, the 245x75's are $134 a peice.

The light A/t version of these is on closeout as well.
Same size, $130 per.

The Cooper ATR is a popular tire here in West MI and I think that they are less expensive than the Continental or the Michilin's.
I had a set of the Cooper ATR's on my FedEx van, they wore out fast, but that was under heavy load and LOTS of stop and go driving.

Something that you need to know, DO NOTlet the tire shop use the impact wrench to put your tires back on your trk.
I dont know if it is such a big deal for a D2, but it is for a D1. It will "stretch" the lug nuts and you will NEVER get your tire tool over them to get them off if you have a flat.
