Default Was my driveshaft rebuilt?

I own a 2000 Discover II with 86700mi that I bought a week ago. Today I was under the truck changing the diff and transfer cs fluids, and I noticed a grease fitting on the front driveshaft joint that is only a single joint. There were no grease fittings that I could see or feel on the double jointed side. Has my driveshaft been rebuilt? The grease fitting was between the two arms of the piece that is shaped like an x. I hope you can understand what I am describing, as this is the first vehicle I have tried to do more than just change the oil myself, and I dont know all the parts proper names. Should I still do a new rebuild?

If the double cardon joint does not have grease fittings then I would say no that it has not been rebuilt.
The double cardon joint is the two joint looking thingy at the back of the front driveshaft.
A normal u-joint is the "X" looking thingy at the end of the driveshafts that attaches to the diferential.

Would only the u-joint have been replaced, or did some come with grease fittings from the factory?

I think that the front came with a grease fitting but not the rest, I am not 100% sure on that.
But the one that matters is the double cardon, if it breaks it will take out your transmission too.
I always say that if you do not know that it has been done than have it done, that goes for anything.
You must assume that the previous owner did nothing to this truck other than drive it.
I take this attitude with any used car.
If I didnt do it, it didnt get done.

You need to have that shaft rebuilt ASAP, using 2 new greasiable u-joints and a new centerball. If not done and it fails, you can loose your tranny.

only the front had a zerk fitting. as long as you have the shaft out, you might want to replace that u-joint too. keep the zerk fitting from the front u-joint and use it to grease the splined shaft ( it has an allen head plug, remove, install fitting, grease, and reinstall plug) Don't throw that fitting away, I think it is an odd size, so save it to grease that shaft.
