Is the check engine light on, what have you actually checked?
Do not put a pump in your truck on a possibily, pretty pricey and probably not needed.

Yeah we need to start over.
If the check engine light is NOT on you wont get any codes.
What model, DI or DII?
What exactly is it doing?
Why spend $300 when you can fix it for $60?

Turn the key on and listen for a hum in the cargo area. If no hum, pop the hood and look for a silver tube on the passenger side. There will be what looks like a valve stem for a tire. Take the cap off and push in the valve as if you are letting the air out of a tire. Be careful, as this should relieve fuel pressure. If fuel does not squirt out, I would start with the fuel filter, then move on to the pump. It can be accessed under the carpet in the cargo area.

If no fuel squirts out, you have no pressure to the injectors. From there, check the filter, at your mileage, it wouldn't hurt. Then, if you still have no pressure, check the pump. Soak the filter connections in some PB Blaster a couple of times before you try to get it loose. It is under your rear passenger wheel well.

jimbo, if you're worried about fuel squirting out and you want to be more precise you can put a fuel pressure gauge on that schrader valve okdiscoguy is talking about.
