My Turn! Overheated today!
Wife called she overheated. Reached 240 and she said she turned engine off . She called AAA and home now. I checked where the leak was a moment ago and it was I THINK BETWEEN THE PULLEY AND THE COOLANT PUMP. Any special part that I need to order or replace? Definitely I'll replace the pump, but is it easy to replace? 2 hours? 3 hours or entire day. Is it as easy a a drive shaft? Thanks

It could just be the small rubber hose between the pump & the plastic y pipe. I’ve seen a few LR’s have issues in that spot due to weak, cheap, or rusty clamps.

I got an app for that! Actually, I just replaced the lower larger than an inch short hose less than 2 weeks ago when it burst. I just want to know if I need to replace the entire pump or just the gasket. Well, I guess the entire assembly instead.

Sounds like you have the fan tool squared away, but if anyone else is interested, I picked up the official fan pulley holder tool for about $90 bucks. Well worth it in my opinion for easy repairs

and optional https://www.lrdirect.com/LRT-12-094-...upling-Wrench/ (or use 36mm fan wrench)

I helped a guy in my neighborhood change his DII water pump a few years ago. Seems to me it took a couple hours and we were not in any hurry.
Cleaning the mating surface of the front cover was probably the most challenging part. You never know how that's going to go. One good thing is that with the fan and the pump out of the way there is a reasonably good amount of room to work on the mating surface.
The unbolting and bolting is not big deal if you follow the RAVE instructions.
