NANOCOM vs Hawkeye
Hey all. I'm looking for a diagnostic tool, and I was hoping to get some consensus from you guys. I've heard about the capabilities of the NANOCOM, but at this point I have a P38, Discovery 2, and I'm planning on getting an LR3 at some point, and the NANOCOM is starting to look pretty expensive once you start adding up the cost of unlock codes. Is what the NANOCOM can do worth compared to a Hawkeye the increase in price?

T4 Test Book > Nanocom Evo > Hawkeye Total > Foxwell NT510/520/530... in that order...
As you stated, the Nanocom is expensive when you add up the unlock codes but it is well worth it. It pays for itself after a few uses by diagnosing/correcting problems yourself and not by a Land Rover garage $$$.

I got a Hawkeye for free, and I've used the Nanocom. The interface on the Nanocom is better (more intuitive). The Hawkeye has a key programming mode but I was not able to get it to work. The Nanocom did the trick.
Long story short, and after talking to Hawkeye...they can't program keys.
Went through this same research binge about a year ago and settled on the Nanocom. SOOOO glad I did. It's come in so handy many times over. Even silly things I could have never anticipated, like when we bought an '04 Disco a few months ago, the airbags were replaced by the prior owner but the Disco sat unlevel since the bags weren't calibrated. Not a problem! The Nanocom has an air suspension section that lets you dial in the precise height of the suspension. Level disco in 10 minutes.
Both of our Disco's only came with one working key. Over the course of the last year, I've bought new shells from Atlantic British and found, or bought cheaply, keys from dead Discos and with the Nanocom now have three keys for each Disco. Really awesome having this thing. Highly recommend.

I wanted something inexpensive that I could keep in my Rover at all times and found the ICarsoft LR V2.0 on Amazon to do the trick. Not sure about the key programming feature as I have not had a need to try but now I’m curious. As far as everything else goes it’s really basic to use and gets the job done for 129.00 bucks. The nanocom is by far my favorite but I won’t leave that in the Rover in case it ever got broke into.
I hope iCarsoft updated their software to work better for Land Rovers. I had their CR Plus that worked on all car models. I found it limited for my Disco 2 so I sold it and got the Foxwell NT-510 in its place.
I use the iCarsoft LRII a lot on my LR3 and it works well. However it is not a programmer it is just a scantool. The Nanocom is a scantool & a programmer. I've messed around with a Hawkeye before and then I was VERY lucky to get my hands on a Nanocom for next to nothing. To me there is just no comparison, the Nanocom is just awesome and programs the BCU, adaptive settings, and keys easily.
