Near off-topic about tires...
So I don't think that T/A actually stands for anything. My long standing feeling about this tire is that calling it "T/A" is marketing speak so that BFGoodrich can put the letters "T" and "A", as in A/T "all terrain", but not have it be an all terrain tire. These tires were designed for SUV's and trucks that don't go off-road (so, nearly all of them) so they prioritize tread wear, ride, and all season performance. That way people can get a tire that matches how they actually drive the vehicle while still pretending/projecting that they have some sort of "off road" labeled tire.
from a quick interweb search, "Tire brand BFGoodrich uses T/A as an abbreviation for Trans Am. This is simply the name for the tire company's performance tires that have been popular for over 50 years."
