Ok so I normally use rotella t4 in the disco, but getting it in my area is next to impossible it seems with out paying abnormally high prices.
With this in mind what do you guys use instead of rotella ? Oh and I trying to avoid synthetic.

try walmart.com. Rotella is usually sub 16 a gallon. Used to be sub 14 a gallon. Orders over 35ish ship free. I have get a commercial discount from the local automotive chain stores and Walmart off the shelf Rotella is usually cheaper. Same with their ac coolant cans.

My passat diesel takes a gallon at each change. My boat and excursion diesels take nearly 5.

Unfortunately direct from Walmart for the 14.00 jug is unavailable to be ordered. There is one that can be ordered for 32.00 for the 1 gallon jug.
what about Castro’s conventional version ??

I'm glad i have an extra 5 gallons. I have a feeling between the fuel cost hikes and mass workers strike an already weak work force is being further depleted. Mobile 15w40 gallons synthetic blend looks to be in stock. Im not sure I'd use it in my 7.3 but I'd run it in the rover as well as my vm 4.2 marine turbo diesel.

You could use a standard 10/30 or 10/40 and add a zinc additive. I personally went to Royal Purple 10/40 HPS synthetic and have seen no significant change in performance or "leaks". Oil pressure is good.

I see Costco now carries a diesel 15w40 in a box of 3 one gallon jugs.

no idea who makes it or how it stacks up but the price was like $38 for the box.

I would not go lighter than a 15wXX though.

good luck.
