Default Need Advice - Possible Discovery Number 3

So I have a couple of Discoverys, why because I enjoy getting kicked in the nuts.

Today, I am going through my ritual of looking at cars on craigslist, Why because I'm a looser and looking at cars on craigslist is one of my useless hobbies, like making fly rods.

What do I see a lure sitting in front of my face asking me to bite it.

Here is the Ad

"2001 land rover discovery.not running.needs to be towed.cranks but no start.don't know what's wrong with it.no battery. $950/cash takes it"

From the photo the body is in good shape, no dents all parts in tact. I'm thinking it could be as simple as a CPS.

So do I take the risk?

So I called the guy 145,000 miles purchased at an auto auction in Iowa. He says it is throwing no codes. He just told be it did start the other day but was running rough.

Now is it worth the drive to look at it. And do I rent a trailer to haul this bitch back to my driveway. I'm still thinking it might be a yes. After all we are 4 on the list.

Based on my conversation, I am also thinking fuel pump.

I'd look at it as a parts truck if nothing else, for 9&1/2. bonus if it is only sensors and fuel pressure that are the problems.

Inspect the oil dipstick for signs of coolant. Running rough, doesn't sound like a fuel pump or CPS.

For the price, if it's in good shape you could part it out for more cash. Does it have a CDL? If so, jackpot.
