Default Need Help !! 2004 Discovery

HI guys,

I have issues. I have a 2004 Disco SE, Honestly I cant wait to get rid of it.

I LOVE how she drives and handles, but I cant keep up with the wrench time needed to keep her on the road.

First, I have down loaded the RAVE disc and the does cover SOME of the SUV but not all as it seems to only cover up to 2003 I have not had any luck locating anything that covers the 2004 including the land rover site it self that I had to pay per day for uses. ONLY COVERS TO 2003 @#(@&$Y^*@&^#!!!!!!!! WTF..

Currently the transmission pan is leaking , I am about to pull it off and put a new gasket on and I "THINK" I see where the fill port is but I am not 100% sure. In the course of being under there so much I have noticed that the front driveshaft does not look healthy. I have seen on a great many post on here that there is a CDL on many of these, Is there one on the 2004? if so where and how do I lock it out so that it will only run on the rear wheels? I know this is a quick fix and only a temp measure to get it too the shop but I dare not drive it as it is.

I just got done replacing the gasket on on the transfer case, replacing all the the O2 sensors, a full tune up with new wires and plugs, a new housing for the radiator fluid, replaced one of the pumps on it as well as a pleathera of other things.

I think at this point I want to get her running well enough just to bite the bullet and trade her in on a car lot..

PLEASE help..I need her running ASAP I have already had her off the road since January and can not be down a car any longer.

the 03 and 04 are nearly similar except the transfer case, TC shift linkage and roof rails. the front drive shaft needs to be rebuilt with greasable u joints. read your owners manual on how to lock the CDL its pretty simple. the movement instructions are printed right in front of the TC shifter kinda looks like ikea instructions.

The t/case is the same case just without the CDL.
As for shifting the CDL, just look at the shift guide up by your t/case handle.
