Need Help Again - Where is the best place to get a used engine?

Really depends on a few factors. From a car that is scrapped is hit or miss. You could get one with rear end damage, but not know that the owner was already having engine problems before they got rear-ended. Safest thing is to buy a used engine and then send it to a machine shop to be checked, cleaned and fixed (bored, or whatever needs to be done to it).
You can check E-bay (don't think I've ever seen an entire engine), junk yards, auctions (sometimes they sell wrecked cars for the parts).
If you do have one shipped, be mindful that you will have to likely unload it with a fork lift, and most curriers will not deliver to a residential address (probably the most restrictive factor).

I had my motor replaced with a used unit from Specialized Parts Planet/LKQ out of Rancho Cordova, CA. My motor in my 03 was ticking for a while, spent a lot of time, new parts to try to fix it, did not work. Drove vehicle for 20k miles like that. Then it overheated one morning, tried T-stat, was ok for 20 miles then over heated again, finally after trying to get the vehicle back to my house I noticed the motor started knocking. Finally I figured I am done with this motor. The intake was full of water..I got a used motor with 80k miles from a 2004 D2 for $3300 from them. I knew it was a gamble, but $5k+ for a short block was too much for me to consider. So far 4,000 miles later, so far so good, not even a drop of oil is leaking and of course no ticking. I hope my decision will hold up for the next few years.
