Default need help with a friends rig

helping a buddy get a 94' jeep cherokee ready for sale so he can buy his disco or RRC.

he put in a new starter and battery and still could not get it to start. then he called me. so i am here now and from what i can gather the ignition switch is FUBAR.

you turn the key to the on position like normal but when you turn to start the assy. just twists all the way around with no spring back to it. the fuel pump and injection prime. i can hear the starter relay clicking. but nothing in the starter.

so is it the ignition switch or the lock cylinder assy?

i am thinking so, but he is wanting outside opinion.

thanks guys

Yup, sounds like a bad ignition switch to me too.

That cant be that much for a Jeep.

the lock cylinder (and maybe the ign. switch ) definitely needs to be replaced. BUT...if the starter relay IS "clicking" the starter should be turning...he may want to check that out for sure....could have a bad relay too !
