Default Need help installing Glove Compartment

Hi guys

I have a question regarding putting back the glove compartment on a 2003 Discovery

I removed the glove compartment to service the A/C blower motor. Wasn't paying attention - removed the 4 bolts at the bottom and the glove compartment came out.

While putting everything back I noticed the glove compartment has rollers on the sides that are spring-loaded. Where do the rollers go? Do they roll inside or outside? I noticed there is a cutout on the right and left sides of the opening where the glove compartment is. Can't quite figure out if the rollers need to go into those cutouts, or if the cutouts are there as a latch.

If I could ask someone a favor to check their Discos and let me know how the glove compartment is installed it will be very much appreciated.

Sorry for the trouble

Thanks in advance

Al

Al, the rollers go inside those cut outs your referring to. Also be careful they do seem to get brittle so dont force them or they will break right off.

Thank you lr2001silver I'll give it a shot

It looks like I have to hold up the spring loaded rollers to get them in. Could be a challenge

Default Glove compartment

Thanks. Successfully put back the glove compartment.

The easiest way is to first bolt in the hinges, just hand tighten. Then with both hands lift the spring-loaded rollers and guide them through the cutouts until they slide in.

Then play with the glove compartment adjusting as necessary for a good fit and locks engage properly.
