Default Need help making a purchasing decision (Nanocom thread)

Hey all,

I have a 2002 Disco 2 and a 2015 RR Evoque. I keep finding reasons to get a Nanocom for the D2, and until now, justified it's cost by it's ability to work with the RR too. I emailed Nanocom though to confirm that the Evqoue will indeed be supported, as a post from them a few years ago mentioned, but alas, official word is that it won't be. So now I'm basically looking at buying the Nanocom just for D2 usage. Should I look for something that can be used on both the D2 and Evoque, like the British Atlantic iLand? Or is the Nanocom worth the price even if for just the D2?

The iLand looks like a waste of money. IMO either nanocom, or a cheap $15 scanner, and/or ultragauge

I dunno man, it's your money... nanocom is as good as it gets

Nanocom rocks! So much BCU settings you can do, diagnostics, and keys. It should also support newer LR’s with added #’s and a Can Bus connector.

you should probably decide what kinds of things you thing you're going to want to do. the nanocom probably does way more than than most users will ever need. a cheapo scanner might not be able to read slabs codes. something like the icarsoft might cover your needs and should be compatible with both vehicles.

Fair point. The immediate needs are pairing two new keys, brake bleeding, and activating the heated windshield.

Good luck on finding a used Nanocom. I rarely see the used ones for sale even over here in the UK.

I was going to mention the Foxwell NT520 for your needs (minus the pairing of keys) but they only go up to the 2014 RR.

As far as the iLand app, I haven't read anything really good about it yet from owners of it. That's too bad.
