If you want some help, crawl under the truck and see what you have for a rear suspension. How are we supposed to help you ?

 

I just did... Regular ol springs in the back...

I was under the impression that ar suspension only came on HSE's. Is that not accurate? Was it an option on the SE?

SLS was not a standard feature but an option along with ACE.
So now your only option is to heat the coils, they are not designed to be cut.
Can't begin to tell you how it will effect your ride, if it were mine I would leave it outside, Discos are a little top heavy anyway and any weakening of the springs will just add to it wanting to say back and forth while going thru curves.

 

wish I could leave it outside... there is no overnight parking in the city on the street... You need to have a spot...

 

If it must be lowered, heating the coils is really the only "good" way to do it. It's been doneon many other vehicles with no problems.I've never heard of it being done to arover, but good luck. Justfind yourself a sport truck, orlow ridershop in your area andtell them you want the coils heatedso you drop about 1.5" and they'll have no problem doing so.I wouldn't go down as much in the front, if you don't have to, to avoid possible steering and tire rub problems.

 

You could always put hydraulics on it. It would be great to see a Disco on 3 wheel motion going through Boston....

 

If I get this right.....You bought a place without knowing if your vehicle would fit in your parking spot !?!

Here's an idea.....Sell it !!! A dropped disco isn't worth anything anyways. Your last option would be lower profile tires, and honestly, I think my first suggestion would be the better choice.

Not to be mean but when I first saw this thread I thought it was a joke. You don't wanna lower it. Anything but that.

 

i like tailchasers idea, or my personal favourite, build yourself a gargage somewhere.. or do the opposite to what most people do and swap your rear springs for the air bags and then buy yourself a fancy remote to lower the back of the disco when you need to park it. or maybe smash a big hole in the entrance to your parking space.....
