When my truck is loaded with my tent + gears... Going uphill via pavement is super slow lol. I almost feel like an 18 wheeler....

But going thru trails, its no biggie. Biggest complaint is really freeway and uphill speed etc...

it's just a low power problem. I'm routinely pegging the gas pedal to watch the speedo drop to 40-45 on some of the passes on i70 here...pretty sure gearing isn't going to change a whole lot there.

<29"

255/65/16: Stock tire size.

255/55/18: optional stock size.

30"-31"

255/55/19: stock size for range rover III. works fine for DII

255/70/16: a little taller than stock.

245/75/16: a little taller than stock. tire manufacturers recommended these be fitted with 7" wheels, but 8" works fine.

32"

275/70/16: possible to fit without lift. minor rubbing.

265/75/16: possible to fit without lift. minor rubbing.

285/60/18: 32" tire for the 18" rim. costs much more than 16".

33"

285/75/16: even taller than 265/75-16, requires around 3" of lift. Very wide and requires trimming. consider upgrading to hd axles & getting lower gears.

255/85/16: a bit taller than 285/75-15 but narrower. consider upgrading to hd axles & getting lower gears.

Really a small body lift is the way to go for 33" to try and avoid trimming. Suspension lifts don't really help fit larger tires. I'd go 265/75/16 Falkens on a 2 in lift. I was not impressed with the duratracs I ran briefly and K02s look great and are amazing on snow packed roads but other than that I was not impressed and had 3 sidewall issues with them and I haven't wheeled them as hard as I have my set of grabbers.

I dont do anything crazy - (If you're from NORCAL, USAL BEACH, Corral Hollow and Prewitt Ridge - This is the type of terrain I only do, no rock crawling... to most, this is "beginner" i think...)

Going with 265/75/16: possible to fit without lift. minor rubbing. I may try Falken, KO2's just a little noisy on the road.

The Falkens might be a little larger than the K02s even if the same size. the K02s tend to run smaller even than the posted measured size...For me the more sidewall the better, every little bit helps on those brutal stretches of potholes and washboards and means bigger contact patch when aired down. I don't even do "easy" things without airing down, it makes the ride so much more enjoyable and the time to air back up totally worth it.

I aired down to 5 on sand on my KO2's. 20/15 psi on dirts and, it makes the world difference... haven't had issue with KO2's airing down but maybe because I got a crazy hump on the bead seat on my rims as well...

(WOW them rims are on sale... I may just buy another set)

If you go MT I'd look into the general grabber x3. Absolutely love mine and would happily buy again.

From what I learned here - please correct me if I am wrong - the diameter of the tire isn't the only parameter to consider, but also the width. A 255/32" tire might fit, while a 265 or wider/32" tire might rub. On ebay there are great deals for 255/70R18 (32") tires. I am temped to install them in place of my stock without lift (requires only trimming of the factory front bumper from what I heard).
