Hello all, I am about to buy my first Rover but I have many questions. I am torn between two different Rovers
1. 1998 Teal Rover
-145K
-Auto
-Only 1 window is not working
-Everything else works flawless
-Needs both valve cover gaskets and probably pads
-4.0
-$3300
2. 1995 Green
-140K
-5 Speed!
-AC not working, headliner hanging
-OME Heavy lift with 235/85
-3.9
-$3500
Now for the questions, which would you buy and why? Are the 5 speeds good or are they prone to break? I have thought about these Rovers over and over but, I just can't decide. Just trying to get your expert opinion.
Thanks, Jason

The 1998 is going to be easier to work on.
Why? OBDII reader.
Coil pack 1998. 1995 has a distributor more moving parts.
AC will cost a lot more to fix. Windows are cheaper to fix.
The 98 will be nicer inside as the last few years they loaded the Disco I's up.
Both can be used off road the OME lift is about $600 USD new
but how old are the springs?
The clutch arm on the 5speed are weak.
I have had two other 4x4's with 5speeds and off road the auto works better.
I would never had said this and told many people
that the manual worked better off road, but they don't.
Look for rust look for service records.
But in the end the one you get is the one you like.
Happy Rovering.
