Default Need seafoam help

I have looked at the previous posts for seafoam but I was unable to find a picture of where to connectthe vaccumn line off the manifold. If anyone could post a picture or give me a very detailed description of where it is I would appreciate it. Please somebody help me.

according to the following diagram I disconnected the brake vacuum line at location #5 and inserted a rubber tube (luckily I had one laying around that fit) I then used that rubber tube to suck up the seafoam.

It's the smallest hose with the 90* connector in this pic. It's hidden behind the PCV hose a little. Get 2' (or more) of 3/16th" vacuum hose to suck in the SeaFoam.

I agree with Disco2Guy.
Make sure you use the whole can and suck it in slowly, turn off the engine and let it sit for 1/2 hour or more before driving it and enjoy the smoke.

Does letting it sit 1/2 hour make it more effective? I followed directions and only let it sit 5 mins.

I believe the additional time helps break down the carbon. If you notice no improvement, seafoam again for the perscribed 30 minutes. As Mike said, regulate the suction slowly. Good luck!

Nick

Thank you all for the input. I definately turned a few heads when I was heading down the road. It seemed to have worked well.

I had to do my induction cleaning at night, since there are so many cars around until ~10pm on the roads in S.F. It took driving about 8 blocks to clear the smoke leaving the exhaust. After that I hit the highway, and heard a little tapping sound for about a minute. It went away and never came back. I used the ScanGauge2 to clear the #8 misfire and rough road implausible codes. I let too much SeaFoam in at the very beginning (took a few seconds to get the right "touch") which made the truck almost stall, but I was able to keep it running the entire time.

I understand that the carbon problem (4.0L) on the valve stems was corrected by redesigning the valves. What I don't recall is what year they started using the better valves. Does anyone know?
