Default In need of serious help! Starting issue.

So here it goes... The positive battery cable heats up and the battery drains, I traced all the power wires and no signs of any exposed wiring. When the battery is charged up the car has little to no power in the acc. mode (as if the battery were dead). I was wondering if it was the ignition switch, it sometimes will act as if if wants to start when switched to the acc. postion. when the car has been sitting all the lights in the dash light up but when you give it a second try its completly dead. but the light around the dash will stay lit, the stereo partilay powers up, and the door chimes when the key is out the ignition.

How old is your battery?
Have you have the starter tested?
Have you checked for a corroded battery cable?

The battery is 6 months old and had tested twice. All termianals are clean. The starter has not been tested, do you think that it could effect the way the ignition works? (sometimes will charm when the key is out the ignition, the lights on the radio are also on) and if it were a bad ground would the positive terminal heat up?

If it helps, it all started when I changed out the brake switch. The top turn signals also are not working. Just would like for it to start for now.
Thanks for any and all input.

Follow the ground cable leading from the battery. It should go to the starter and the engine block (I think, I have not diagnosed the disco II yet only Jeeps). I would clean and inspect both those. Also clean the ground terminal at the battery - remove it, maybe reclip it so you get fresh wires showing, then reconnect it, etc.
