Nothing wrong with the "S" medel, just no sunroofs or other things to go wrong. lol

www.nada,com
www.kbb.com
www.edmunds.com
Look the value of this truck up on each site, print the page, take the average of the three and start below that price.
Do NOT be afraid to walk, that price is to high, and you are right, at the LR dealer they will be less willing to haggle, but wave your check book around when you talk and the salesmen will drool.
Talk about maybe buying a extended warrenty, the more you want to add on the lower the price of the truck will become, then when it comes time to buy...no thank you, the truck only.
And do not talk trade in until the very last thing that you do, settle on a price for the Rover before you talk trade.
And make sure that you use those three sites to find the value of your trade in too.
They will give you a great deal on the truck but screw you on your trade to make their money back.

Wow you wasnt kidding, I did the edmunds and KBB

KBB value on the LR is 9400 and edmunds 12000(for a certified used vehicle, and I think it is that)

17995 is crazy - im about afraid to even go try to haggle with them, that much of a mark up and they are probably ******.

As far as my jeep, it comes in at about 16ish on those sights trade in values, and Im gonna try to get them to get me 17-18 on it and id be happy probably. If theyd do 9400 on the LR id gladly take 16000 on my jeep - but I dont see that happening.

when you walk into a beautiful LR dealer remember much of the higher price is paying for all that beauty.

Im telling you, the trick I told you earlier works everytime! Dealers HATE to lose business to another dealership. If you have another dealer near you, Ford for example, tell them they have another 2004 disco, it make up a price that you think they would be willing to match, and tell them that you're going to buy the other one unless they come down. Everyone in my family uses this trick, dealers are suckers for it. We have saved thousands of dollars as a family over the years. My Grandfather is a pro at it!

That disco is worth it! Looks well kept, and that prob the excuse for it being so high. Good find though! hope you can get them to come down.

i agree it is a great find,

i would work the dealer hard for it. remember the market for large SUV's that use tank loads of fuel is not high right now. so they will be willing to deal to move a vehicle off the lot.

and look out for the badgering car salesmen,,,

They will never give you what your trade in is really worth.
If you still owe on the Jeep you will be lucky if they pay it off for you.
You will pay a higher price buying from a LR dealer, but they gave it the once over, if it didnt meat LR specs, they fixed it.
So is what is the peice of mind worth to you?

Yeah dealing with dealerships can be a pain in the backside.

I would go for that LR if they will do me 17k on my trade in as it sets........and go 16k on the LR.

16k is kind of high as referenced to all the trade in value sites, etc.... but if its gonna last me 300k miles I am prepared to put out that kinda $ just to have the piece of mind that im gonna have me a great dependable vehicle that looks freakin awesome.

Ill let you guys know how it goes when I get back tomorrow, I hope I drive it home.
