Ok well I am now back from the dealer. I worked with them for a little over 2 hrs.

It was an S but it had the sunroofs....... I test drove it and it was very nice.

17500 is as low as I could get them to go.

They would not budge.

They offered me 15500 on my trade in, so I ended up walking.

Bummer I was really hoping I would be the owner of a LR today I had a very positive attitude but the dealership took that away lol.

Oh well 17500 was to exp for that anyways I seen like 4-5 of them on ebay for the 13500ish range............... I might try to find me one and buy it straight out and sell the jeep myself or something unless I can find a dealer that will give me at least 17k

It must be a fresh trade in if they are willing to let you walk away. Once it sits for a while and costs them money they will become more willing to negotiate. If you are still in the market in a month or 2 stop back by and see if they have changed their bottom line. It doesn't sound like you need the vehicle so you have no reason to pay too much or get ripped off on your trade.

No doubt.

Well acutally they said that it had been there forever so Im not sure how long the gray one has been there, it was a trade in though from a local guy that is very loyal to them from what I got - so they probably gave him top dollar for what ever he got when he traded it in.

I am probably better served finding one on Ebay or something.......... i found 10 '04s on there and they are all under 14k................

anyone know of any good discos in around the middle TN area , id be willing to drive 100 plus miles one way if they would give me a deal

Oh yeah I forgot to add, about your let me walk line, the salesmen said this to me when I tried the ..... I found other LRs for cheaper and I need 17k on my trade in...etc

He said yeah Chevy Dodge, Jeep can sell you there vehicles at cost, and give you top dollar on your trade but they are in the **** bowl now, and we are LR we dont have to that.

The guy was OK ..... for a salesmen anyways, but you could defiantly tell the whole high class part of the whole deal

check autotrader and ebay.

this is exactly why i walked from the LR dealer. NOT WILLING TO NEG.

they even said we want to move a car because of the slow economy, but when it came time to deal they were stubborn and thought that dropping 500 was doing me a favor.

3 days later i found and bought my 04. asking price of 14,995. OTD for 13,300. now they were willing to deal,,,,,,they were a small luxury car dealer about 2 hours from me. they had a green S on the lot as well that was immaculate. but i fell for the silver

point is that good rigs are out there and the LR dealers are not really the best route to take.
