Need tune up?...only?
Take it easy, Mike. I just spent not enough time on my D2 because I allocate it on something else. I will not dismantle some parts and study them unless something goes wrong. God bless my D2 is giving me wonderful times in this year and a half and I don't have to "study" it except for those minimal maintenance like oil change, tire check etc. Just because the truck is too good, what I know about it is not as good as the pals here.
Take a little advice and get your codes read, why are you trying to second guess something that is a lot smarter then you.
Forget the wires, plugs and everything else till you see what is really needed.
As for allocating time, takes 10 or 15 minutes to go get your codes read.

Mike is definitely right on this one. I had a code read today at Advance, and it took me all of 5 minutes. If you are remembering the code you had read right, it sounds like it could be either a failing o2 sensor, or possibly an exhaust leak. Either way, you really need to get those codes read, and then get back to us with the info.
Do yourself a favor and go buy a ODBII scanner, Harbor Freight sells them as well as Wal-Mart.
With the scanner you can read trouble codes and turn off your check engine light.
Whenever your CEL is on there is a problem that can potentially be harmful to your truck.
Just because you fixed one problem does not mean that there is not another.

The CEL came on because of the induction cleaning, it should turn back off on its owe after a day or two.
And yes, a OBDII scanner can read and clear check engine lights.
I bought a scanner off of e-bay that also reads live data, like engine temp, rpm, O2 sensors, TPS, etc.
It is supposed to read transmission codes too after a free update from the web.

Yes,
Rover made a mistake calling the light a service light like the D1's had. D2's have no service light as such, it is an old fashion check engine light and does not come on for any maintance issues just fault codes.
