Default New ABS Diagnostic Tool - ABS Amigo

I have a new product for the Land Rover Discovery 2 ABS system. The new tool is called the ABS Amigo.

The diagnostic tool will read the ABS fault codes and clear the ABS fault codes. The ABS fault codes can then be pulled of the diagnostic tool using any windows PC.

Let me know what you think;

disco mike called me yesterday and told me about this device. The nearest testbook to me is on another island. You stateside citizens are lucky. I'd have to ship my discovery to the British virgin islands and have the LR dealer there reset and clear my codes. Having a device like this will be much better!

I ship internationally using USPS priority international service. Last year about half of my 700 shipments were international. USPS priority international shipping is a flat rate of 24 USD. Typical shipping times are between 7-12 business days. Orders typically ship within 12 hours of payment. All payments are processed through paypal. Paypal safely accepts all major credit cards.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
Thanks,
Storey Wilson

This is just my opinion btw,

at $198 for the coverage of 1 system, I personally think its to expensive.

this http://web.nanocom.it/default_i.cfm for example will cost around $300 and Will Read / Clear / Test / Reconfigure the :-

ABS, TC, HDC, SLS, ALARM and the BCU on the Discovery 2. Its totally usuable as a standalone item, or can be used with a pc or laptop, upgradable online each time they add a new system (ACE currently being developed).

So when you compare the 2, not a hard choice to be honest. I by no means mean to "put the other product down", its a good thing, congrats on developing it, albeit a little "to late" to arrive in the market and very limited in its function. Now if it was $60 - $80, then it's def a good item to add to the tool list.

Sure, I tested it on 3 more trucks today, have 2 set for tomorrow, and as far as I can see, it is just about as bullet proof as one could get.
Communicates, reads and clears in under 5 seconds.
Here is an example of a print out.
My unit plugged in and communicated perfectly. It seems the unit was communicating even before the key was turned on- it appeared it went through the described lighted sequences indicated in your instructions before turning the key to the second position. My three Amigos were present before I plugged in the tool. Here is a copy of the text I got once hooked up to my laptop the first time:

And here's the second text file after I plugged it into the truck for a second time:

It can't get much simpler then this.

I spoke with the company this afternoon and it looks like they will have some units ready for sale later this week or early next week.
I know of one of our members who has already placed an order, lets wait and see what he says.
As for me, I would recommend this device to any D2 driver who likes to wheel or drive a lot, that doesn't want the system to shut him down or pay out the $100 plus check out fees, without batting an eye.

So this device ONLY clears the 3 amigos? In my case, I have the 3 amigos plus the parking brake light. I'm guessing it won't clear the parking brake light or give me the codes? Also, I guess it won't read and clear check engine light codes either?

Mike (or anyone) - have you ever used the Nanocom unit that Urban Panzer mentions?

Thanks!

Contact www.dap-inc.com. they are a distributor for http://www.bearmach.com/ which sells the TD5-Nanocom. $345 USD.

They are also a distributor for the bearmach Hawkeye which will retail around $450 USD. see image below. According to DAP-Inc,the Hawkeye is made by the same company that made the Testbook.

I have been in communication with DAP about these devices. As of today they haven't been able to test either or so Urban Panzer is our only "go to" guy for the Nanocom... maybe he has some info on this on his website.

You seem to be limited on why codes show up, they are there for a reason, not to annoy you.
This device will read and clear one of the most common, expensive issues to diagnois so you can make a logical decision as to how to address the problem, as well as getting you going again while on the trail having lost your ETC. So where does your "ONLY" question come from?
As for the e-brake/warning brake light, not everything can be scanned, some things have to be checked the old fashion way by getting dirty, or spending the big bucks at your dealer. In your case, check your brake fluid, it may be low because your brakes are warn out which is why your 3 Amigos are on.
