Default New Brakes... Concern

94 DI

So I replaced the brake pads all the way around, Original Equipment, and replaced caliper drivers front 3-4 weeks ago.

Now when at highway speeds, I will notice I can hear the drivers front brake squeaking a bit, if I hit a bump it will stop, or if I touch the brakes.

I used new springs so Im wondering is this just part of the seating process??

I used lots of brake lube..

Drove to Tulsa and back today, about 2 hrs each way, and upon returning, the rotor was hot.. Not hot enough to feel radiant heat on the wheel, or by even getting hand close to the rotor, but I did touch the rotor and it was hot enough to Burn my finger.. Should I be concerned or is this part of the seating process.

jack up that wheel and see if you can spin it.

Sounds like you might have sticking caliper pistons, but does it pull to the side when you take your hands off the wheels? That shouldn't be the case with a new caliper, but stranger things have happened. I assume you didn't notice it after you replaced the caliper, but it may be that only since the pistons are pushed back in further with new pads that it's showing up.

Wheel spins freely, and the caliper is new..
Doesnt drag or make the vehicle pull,

Its as if the springs arent quite pushing it apart far enough..

Used the old pins that hold the pads in the calipers as the replacement pins sent were about 1/2 inch longer than the ones on it.

Caliper is dragging, is it new or rebuilt?

Should have stopped by, I would have looked at it....

another thought is a wheel bearing that is too tight. I does sound like the caliper is dragging, though. Your rotors will heat up, but they should be the same temp side to side.

I thought hub bearings too, but he only replaced pads and caliper, so there was no reason to remove the hub. Since it started after putting in the new pads, is probably either the caliper or the pads aren't in right.
I suppose it could be coincidence, but I'd be surprised.

Caliper is rebuilt, I xan turn the wheel fine, the sound is intermittant. If it was Dragging bad I would expect the rotor to be super hot. Its not.

The last pads seemed to have goo that stuck them to the pistons, the goo i put on these is just slippery stuff, perhaps the springs pushing fron the top is letting the bottom of the pads barely make contact with rotor?

The last pic I saw of your rotors looked pretty bad. They may just be undersized.

As fot the squeal stop, I use the spray that gets really tacky. That is probably what was on there before, not the grease. It can get into places you don't want it too if the rotor gets real hot and melts it down.

You mean below Spec.. thickness wise??

How would that make the pads squeal?
