Default New Cup holders

I just bought a pair of new cup holders for my 00 Disco and the instructions aren't too clear. It seems simple but I want to make sure I am doing it right before I drill two new holes in my center console.

what do you want to know? I just added a set to my D1 a few hours ago...

I put the center hole about even with the front of the shifter. Mark this with a pencil. Not too sure, but I think you go 30MM in front of that mark for the passenger side and drill the larger hole for the plastic nipple (he he) to fit in, and go 30MM to the rear on the drivers side. Then drill a pilot hole for the center screw and bottom screw. It gives you little clips to drill a larger hole, but with a pilot hole (smaller than the screw), it seems to hole fine.

Need more, just shout.

PS They are great. I can't believe I went so long without them..

Can I use the same holes on the top from my old ones? They are just a little bit forward of where they say to drill. Also, the black clips, they have to go behind the center console sides to hold the screw? thanks

Don't know what kind you had in there before, but if they line up, don't see why not....

If they are forward, you should be ok since your D2 Xfer shifter doesn't go side to side. Slap them up there and see if they get in the way..

For the clip, I didn't use them. I just drilled a small pilot hole and srcewed them in by hand. Seems to hold just fine.. But yes, if you use them, the threaded part goes on the inside of the housing and the flat part goes on the outside.

I think I got it. Thanks for the help. I don't know why I waited so long either, I got tired of not being able to hold anything but a 12oz can. Now I can fit a big foster's can.
