New D2. First lengthy inspection after buying sight unseen
I used to run that 20/50w Valvoline oil in my 94 RRC until it got very hard to find, and then I found out about the 15/40 Rotella which I personally like better. It's not as thick as the 20/50w and it's SO much easier to find basically anywhere.
The factory radio is nothing special and I would bin it for something more modern. Make sure it has pre-amp outputs if you do.
Also great to see your engine has preserved the underside of the vehicle with a layer of oil. I think that's why my Disco is as rust-free as it is.
Like many on this forum, I use Rotella 15W-40, and you can't beat the price versus the level of detergents in it. Dump some Seafoam in when you change it.
The other thing I would do is take a wire wheel to that rust on the frame and then spray paint it with a rust converter immediately. I then spray the frame with Fluid Film every winter to protect it from road salt. It's really something you need to stay on top of.
