Default New disco owner... potentially.

Hi everyone, I had a quick question. Currently a jeep wrangler guy... but I've been looking into getting a disco 2 for a while now and came across an '03 in good condition. I have access to an older D2 to scavenge a CDL from if I buy this '03, although this will be a daily driver and I'm on the fence if this is a necessary upgrade. Before I pull the trigger I was curious if anyone can tell me how quick of a fix the driver's seat is in the photo below. Can I just tuck it in or is the fix far more involved? I've dealt with seat issues on my old Pathy and frankly don't want to end up replacing lots of leather. Thanks!

Just remove 2 screws and remove plastic cover and tuck it back inside.

So it is not missing any hooks/hardware?

Also, I've seen many threads on the biggest tire for stock height but haven't found any info on the tailgate. What is the largest tire that will fit on the tailgate and clear the rear bumper?

Thanks!

Flip the carrier over and notch it for the rear wiper and you can mount a 32”. I had to modify the mount slightly to mount a 33”.

What about leaving the carrier as is?

I fit a 245/75/16 on there and there is not much to spare for clearance

Awesome. Thanks for all the info. Next question... should I get an SE7 over an SE? Is the cargo room that much less with the third row seats folded? Are those seats even usable by adults? Thanks.

I'd say if you don't have kids, don't go for the SE7. You can remove the seats easily but there is the all the other crap that is bolted to the roof (headrests) and the trim pieces are different on the interior.

With the seats folded, you should have a open space in the back -- you just lose the 2 side pocket storage bins.

Pictures, or it didn't happen.

I like my storage bins on my 01, better than the two extra, unusable seats in the rear of my wife's 03...especially, if you plan on camping.

Brian.
