Many have posted that it is a good product from a good place. Easier than rebuilding your own (write up in the tech area), but more costly.
Once you update the shaft, grease it. Like every oil change. An upgraded shaft can fail as well if not attended to.

I called Lucky8 and spoke with Jason, the owner. He seems like a great guy and I trust that he runs an honest business so I ordered the driveshaft from him. It should arrive by the end of next week. Thanks for the advise on maintaining it.
This should be a good week. Both the driveshaft from Lucky8 and the warm weather thermostat from Atlantic British were ordered over the weekend and should arrive in the next few days. Once the driveshaft is installed I plan to take the truck to a local Rover indy to have the differential and transfer case fluids all changed and have a proper "post purchase" inspection done. I seem to have a lot of oil on the underside of the truck and I really want to find out where it is coming from. It appears to be fresh so it is probably a leaking gasket or seal somewhere. Hopefully, servicing the above items will fix these problems.
Maybe the shop will even install the new leather ebrake and shifter boots I purchased from England. Then I can finally drive my truck. I have been chomping at the bit, but didn't want to take the risk.

First experience with Atlantic British didn't go well. Just received my order for what was suppose to be the warm weather thermostat, part # PEL500110. What I received was the Motorad generic part with no identifying number on it, so I can ensure it is the 180 degree unit. They did however send it in an OEM box. That was nice of them. Of course, a call or email asking me to accept a substitution would have been nice.
I was able to determine that the part I received is in fact a 180 degree thermostat. Just appears they charged me for the factory part and sent me the aftermarket unit that I could have purchased elsewhere for far less.

Spoke with a gentleman at Atlantic British and he claims that the part #PEL500110 is just how they list the 180 degree "soft spring" thermostats and that color of the housing makes no difference at all. He assures me that this is the same as the factory 180 degree thermostat and that they do not sell them based on a particular manufacturer. If this is the case how do I know if this is different from the Motorad # 439 180 ? I'm not sure if I should keep it or return it. The Motorad 439 180 is $38.45 delivered and I paid $55.31 for this one. Seems a bit odd to me.
Yesterday was a great day. My new driveshaft arrived Tuesday night from Lucky8 so it got installed yesterday. I also had my coolant system flushed and re-filled so that should ensure that I don't have any coolant issues. I will put the new thermostat on this coming Sunday. I've decided to use the one I received from Atlantic British, even though their explanation of why they sent a Motorad unit is lame.
After owning the Discovery for a month, I was finally able to drive my truck without fear of a major issue. I celebrated the occasion by attending my first Houston Land Rover Club meeting last night. What a great group. I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone better and checking out their cool trucks.

I was introduced to a great indy Land Rover shop in the Houston area by a member of the Houston Land Rover Club. The shop is in Katy and is named British Auto Solutions. The owner is named Joel. He has ten years dealer experience and a real passion for Land Rovers. He changed the fluids in both my diffs and my transfer case with Mobil 1 gear oil, installed the new thermostat and large coolant hose, two wipers, the leather boots for the e-brake and transfer case shifter, and a couple of o- rings. He provided the fluids and o- rings. All for $306. If anyone needs his phone number let me know.
The mechanic I used a few days ago mentioned that he thinks my truck may have the 4.6L engine in it, but the sticker is missing. How would I know which engine I have?
