RE: New to the Land Rover Scene. Help!
Hey everyone, I need some specifics now, I'm going to go and test drive the disco again, but are there any specific things I should be listening/ feeling/ Looking/ smelling for that indicate there is something very wrong?
Any advice now on the test drive, just so I don't buy a car that needs several thousand dollars of repairs the minute I drive it home
Thanks!

First, I would look for documentation that maintenance was done on the truck. Many of these were lease vehicles or driven by people who deferred maintenance because they knew they were getting rid of it. Addtionally, if it passes your own test drive I would have a good independent shop look at it to make sure a head gasket or other problem isn't pending - at least as far as they can tell. If things look good go ahead and buy it. Just beware, the truck is maintenance intensive and it will cost money to maintain it. Do not get it if you are not a proactive person when it comes to maintenance.Even if you get a good one you'll want to spend money on all the "neat" things to make it yours......Good luck and enjoy!

Just make sure that EVERYTHING works. Cruise, wipers (delay, slow and high), rear wiper, rear-defroster (does the glass get warm?), A/C, heat, all lights, turn signals, EVERYTHING. No major leaks either. Do the tires match? What condition is the spare tire in?
