Hi all, i have a 96 Disco with about 106K miles. She runs great and i have done most of the maintenance myself. My question is she is starting to vibrate at around 70mph. Not a lot, just enought to notice it. Had it done before and had New Orleans dealer fix it the first time about 1.5 years ago (had CPO at the time so no cover charge). Any ideas?

the list of things that could cause a vibration at the speed you are talking about. ie 70mph. Tire/wheel balancing, drive shaft out of balance, front end out of line, , if you have the front end aligned make sure to do a 4 wheel alignment. tire pressure not correct. steering gear box wear,
u joint wear. tire wear not even, brake rotors may need to be replaced. They have a replacement time, that is not directly related to rotor wear. Things that a do it yourselfer would normally be able to handle would be. tire pressure/wear. check brakes, pads, The u-joints will usually make a clunk noise when shifting from drive to reverse and/or back. motor mounts are usually a start stop situation or quick acceloration.
Most of the stuff you will need to check will require special tools. check as much as you can, then have someone you trust check the rest. dealers are usually the most expensive. Most will do a complete inspection for a fee, just to see what is wrong, and then you deciede what you want them to do. Welcome to the forum, and i hope this helps. gotta love a rover, duboff
