new potential lift/ springs
Hello,
I currently run stock height suspension on my 02 DII. I have replaced the original shocks with stock height TerraFirma shocks, thus far no complaints with steel bumpers (front and rear). I now have acquired and installed a Safety Devices Rack. Am I taxing the suspension? I located a set of Britpart coil/ springs that claim 40mm (1.5") lift for $290 OBO new. Are they a good coil/ spring to use. I am also running stainless brake lines that are plus 2" so brake lines shouldn't be an issue. Model of Britpart coil/ springs is DA4197 and DA4199. I am not trying to be cheap by any means, however don't want to overpay.

I cannot weigh in on the springs, however I can tell you that you aren't taxing your suspension.
If you lifted 1.5", you still wouldn't need the +2" SS lines (stock would be fine). Unless you went with 33" tires, then you'd be close enough to warrant the extra length.
I might be wrong, but you can get a TF spring set for roughly the same price right? Might be a good chance for you to check shock towers and what not to make sure those are okay (they typically rust)
You might want to also get a TF steering damper and maybe some upgraded steering rods and such. Just helps a bit for future endeavors

If you are going to do a lift, consider the RTE 3". Sounds like you are an accessory guy, I am as well. Down the road you might think about bigger tires, the 3" gives you many more options over the 1.5"-2" coils.

I feel like I should've replaced the coils when I did the shocks, however my indy mechanic didn't feel it was necessary. I like the stock look and have seen some nice looking rovers lifted. I get what I feel is amazing MPG, 16 city/ 19 hwy, I don't speed and I am assuming that plays a role. I have a feeling if its not kept stock height, MPG will suffer.

Heck, maybe I'll part with the rack and just lift her some or get new stock height HD coils. Most likely give Eric @ Lucky8 a call to see what he can do for me.
