Do not worry, I think you are getting more snow tonight and tomorrow. I am in CDA just East of you and we will have snow everyday until after Christmas.

I like the rack, I think the SD will look better though.

Rack looks good, although imo I think it would look "better" over the rear roof rather than the front, it kinda looks "lost". just my opinion tho.

The Yaks will not fit at the back. The towers hit the roof. I have the Yaks, and I cannot get my rear rack more than about 22" from the windshield. Even at that, I had to put foam on the inside piece of the tower that moves when you tighten the screw.

i suppose one could fit a higher spacer in the footing to give the extra clearance needed to clear the roof, and somehow space the footing so it does not rub on the roof,

but like i said when i have more cash i will get a sd rack. but not before i get a extra set of wheels and tires

Let me clarify, the towers hit the side of the roof above the gutters, and as you tighten the screws, they press against the body more. The Thules have a more vertical tower and will not do that. I think my solution is to buy eight Thule towers and four crossbars, which may seem like overkill, but overengineered is better than not enough. My reasoning is that in case I do need to remove the rack for whatever reason, it will be much more compact to store.

the stores around hear all stock the thule stuff more then the yakima stuff. i need to hold it and test fit before buying. besides i dont have enough crap to haul around to need a full rack.

I don't always have enough crap, but since I have forgone driving a pickup to drive a Disco, I need some sort of full length configuration for hauling plywood and lumber after my wife sees something on HGTV that she wants me to build.[:@]

I have 2 Thule bars for sale. IIRC, they are 64" long. Shipping might be a pain cause they're over 5', which means oversize I think.
