Default New Tunes

The new stereo I installed in my D1. Not an easy install due to the limited space behind the dash and the amount of wiring needed to do the install. Had to use a converter box to allow the factory amps to be kept in the system and avoid major rewiring. As an added bonus, this gives a lot more volume then the factory deck. It also control my Ipod and Sirius radio.

Very nice, did you have some one install it for you or did you do it yourself? I need to do this soon, I flooded my CD changer on the last wheeling trip[:@]

I did the install myself. I didn't think the install would be nearly as complicated as it turned out to be. The hardest part was trying to get all the extra wiring to fit behind the dash with the deck. I still have my factory changer under the seat that needs to come out one of these days.

True. How much did the whole set up cost you?

Nice install. I just installed a Clarion flip DVD player in my D2, but I have 2 antenna connections from the stock radio, I only used 1. I now notice the radio reception is crappy at tiimes, any ideas?

The whole system cost me about $350 from Crutchfield. That price includes the Sirius interface. The Ipod adapter is a USB cable that came with the deck. Just ran that over to the glove box so my Ipod is out of sight.

Discoboy - I have been searching the net looking for a Y to allow both antenna leads to be tied in. I think that will help reception.

AK rover, thanks, I will look for the 'Y' adapter and give it a shot.

I would assume that the D2 uses the "european" antenna connector like my D1 so make sure and get a second adapter to fit the standard antenna jacks. The "Y" you need is 2 females to 1 male. Let me know how it works for you. Maybe I'll do it to mine if it works for you.
