Question "NEW" used cluster. question?

So thanks to this lovely forum i was able to get myself a cluster with all LED's working properly. The previous owner had busted out a particular 3 (take a guess) of my LED's along with a blinker (not sure why he broke that). So Now i have my cluster hooked up, i know you need to program the new mileage in.

HERE IS MY QUESTION. The cluster is not stupid it knows it doesnt belong because the mileage is constantly blinking. Is there anyway to stop this? am i forced to go to the dealer to have it reprogrammed? i know its cheaper than the $1,200 they wanted for a new cluster but..i would rather fix it myself if possible. hope someone with dealership experience or cluster replacement can chime in.

On a positive. anyone looking to permanetly get rid of their three amigos i have a cluster for sale. lol.

Do a search for this, there is a way to stop the flashing, it has something to do with holding the trip reset button and standing on your wifes head while she recites the UK national anthem but you must be wearing her underwear kinda thing.

Unfortunately, to stop the odometer flashing, you will need to visit a dealer, or some one with Autologic, Rovacom, Nanocom or similar to have the mileage Synched between the BCU and the Instrument pack, no other way to do it as far as I know.

You need to have a dealer or shop with a T4 type scanner reprogram the cluster so it will communicate with the ECU, this is the only way to correct it.

So since you will be having someone set up the communications for your new cluster, have them read the 3 Amigos at the same time, shouldn't cost you any more.

Problem is, if you don't have the proper mileage showing when you go to sell it, you will get caught when anyone runs a check on it.

well thats true... but i'm not gonna get rid of something like a almost free disco... besides i could say it just failed so i replaced it, and they can take it to the dealer....i write down how many miles my old one had anyways..

if i ever goto the dealer with my truck... i'll fix it then.

flashing numbers dont bother me at all... but then again i dont have any codes or warning lights pissing me off
