Nice. Looks like you did a remote-mount of the solenoid pack. I've got the same bumper on my '04 with the fog light switch wired up the a pair of massive Terrafirma lights (installed by the PO) and I'm about to move the solenoid under the hood along with the addition of a remote. Any pics or details on where you put the solenoid? I'm also going to swap out the 25 sq. mm wire that came with the winch (somewhere between a 3 gauge and 4 gauge wire) to 2 gauge. That's kinda going to suck since I'll need to get 4 lengths of wire 6 ft. long or so.

By the way, anybody looking to upgrade their winch wiring might want to check out marine suppliers. Marine cables come in long lengths with lugs on each end and are typically much heavier than automotive cables. I checked with some local audio shops and battery suppliers and their cable sells for $3 to $4 per foot. An online marine supplier I found has 5 ft. long 2 gauge cables for $9.75. They also sell protective boots for the terminals.

I am still in the planning stages on my winch mount, and would like some thoughts so how long the cables need to be to be long enough for remote mounting solenoid roughly in the general area being the battery box, but not to long on a D2?

Well, I went with a lower priced 9000lb Harbor Freight winch. After checking out the reviews of that winch, it seems like its a great winch for the money, and was willing to give it a try. It has all the features of the warn m8000 I.was after, so time will tell if it is worth the $349 I paid. The remote mount is under the hood in a water tight marine box with water tight connectors.

Nice looking set up. You might want to go to your bumper mount and add 1 additional bolt to the frame in order to prevent the bumper from sagging from time or use. Great looking bumper but poor mounting design.
You will love the HID lights, when off road, I am currently running 2 in each head light and 3 on my bumper and boy do they light up the trails at night.
