Default New Y-pipe Suggestions??

The high flow magnaflow universal cats my independent LR guy put in a couple years ago are done in. The rattling has become unbearable so I'd like to replace with a new y-pipe. I would consider new universal ones, but the welds are so bad (1 02sensor is welded to the pipe) I just don't see it being worth the trouble.

I'd like something in the $400 range if that's possible. Davico prices and reviews are very mixed so they have me a little nervous. There's also an AB catalytic ypipe on Amazon for around $440, but with no reviews. Anyone have experience with either or others in that price range?

I have the davico pipes and they work but are not well formed. I had to bend the brand new pipes to get off my front driveshaft and to mate with the flange in front. They do work with modifications though. Had mine for a couple of years.

That's what worries me about the davico. If I buy something new I would like for it to fit without having to do any modifications to it. Thanks for the input. Anyone else?

Fitment for me was smooth but...

Since day one my B1S2 O2 has always read funky - readings were all over the map.

A few months back the Drivers' side catalyst (B1) dislodged from the internal housing and began to rattle, obnoxiously . Davico markets a lifetime warranty, but I did't get a chance to register for an RMA (if you follow my threads you know why)

Your bigger concern is not the "Y" pipe but what killed both of those Magnaflow cats. Do you have any fault codes, is the engine running poorly, have you blown a head gasket and what octane gas are you using?

The rattle is what concerns me at the moment because it's so awful. I had a vacuum leak I never quite got under control but I've noticed a broken stud from the manifold to y pipe so I'm hoping that's the problem. Engine runs just fine, head gaskets fine, gas is premium. I just don't want to pay $600 for a y pipe.

Thanks coors. I'm starting to stray from the davico idea. Warranty is great and all, but I've never had a smooth warranty claim go through.

Anyone had any luck with the magnaflow y pipe? I just ordered the magnaflow 93689 y pipe for $445 with free shipping off eBay.

Now to find the most affordable Bosch front O2's.

Your pipe selection is important but what caused your other cats to fail is the issue you need to address otherwise any new cats/y-pipe will also fail.

I can't find the cause until I get them replaced. The only codes I ever get are for dead cats and then sometimes a slow O2 reading on bank 1.

Maybe this will help you, when was it last tuned along with new 8 mm plug wires, do you get smoke be it blue or white from your exhaust, been having to add coolant and or burning oil?
