Hi, I used to ride civic all my life. Today, will be my official day to ride a Land rover discovery daily! I have a few question. How do I change the Low and High gear box, and when to use them? on normal drive should it be on high? And where I can find parts? like a side step, a disc changer, a cover for the fifth wheels in the back.thank you.

In neutral, shift the High to Low gear to to low, then put it in 1st 2nd or 3rd depending on what you need it for. Its great for use in mud, snow, ice or anything challenging off road. Always have it in high when driving in normal conditions. (It will beep and show a gear with a cross throughif you did not shift it all the way, fyi)

To get parts and accesssories, go to (www.roverparts.com) (www.dap-inc.com) (www.roversnorth.com) (www.roverland.com USED PARTS) Those are the main ones Atlantic Bristish, the first one listed, is my favorite. What year disco do you have? Good luck if you have any otherquestions let us know!

Just to add, don't shift the CDL lever if you're over 10 mph. It's supposed to be done at 0-5. If it's frozen up and won't shift don't force it, just let us know and some one will help you free up the linkage. Oh and if you plan to be doing much off roading side steps could be torn off very easily. Just an FYI

Thankx alot, It will be very usefull when the snow will fall, here in quebec, some day we have like 25 cm. My disco is an 1999. Another question, it's about the door lock, the two doors in the back won't unlock. The guy who sold the car to me said that the lady who owns the car went to the dealer and make it secure for her kids. Do I have to go to the dealer? or I can do it myself to bring back the unlock to normal. what FYI mean? thankx for the website

could it be the child safety lock? if so, it's the little lever on rear facing side of the door.

FYI is for your information

Thankx, No it's not the little lever on the side door, I already try. I hear the door lock motor working but the lever won't go up. I have to open passenger side in the back manually from inside. Maybe I should take off the door panel to see inside...

Your power door lock actuators are bad. Very common on Land Rovers.
You can go to the dealer and buy new ones and install them yourself.

Find your model and download away.
The RAVE manual is the ONLY way to go, it has it all.
