I was even looking at an LR3, just need to learn about their quirks.

I was afraid you would look at an LR3.

I'm over them. I been likening range rover sports now. But I owned a LR3 here's what I have to say.

Totally different feel from disco, I'm not talking driving, interior. Nothing Alike. Lift options are almost non existent, sure they have rods. (not recommended by me unless for looks only) and they have some spacers but really don't want to f with CV angles.. These things are great to be bought and driven, nothing extreme not to be "built" up. Which to me can be quite boring.

Something on your air suspension will go out eventually and with oversized tires you will rub in bumps not to mention you don't want to go over 6mph with it on bumpstops.

But other than air suspension they are very reliable IMO.

Right now I'd consider a RRS, or a car.. There's no other suv I'd rather drive than a land rover.

Btw I sold the LR3 to get a DII

As much as I love my Disco, if I was in a situation such as yours where it got completely destroyed and was in the market for a new Land Rover, I'm not sure I'd get another one either. It seems like more and more aftermarket stuff is coming out for LR3's plus their used cost has come way down, so I'd probably look for one of those.

I've always considered getting a Discovery 1 if I ever lost my DII for whatever reason. I could probably do twice the mods on a DI for the money I've spent and want to spend upgrading/fixing my DII.

Which ever you get just make sure you get one in good shape.
