That said if my dii Cought fire after all that work id be too pissed to ever buy another.

Yes I'm starting find minor ways the old DI was a little better, a good bit less to go wrong.
But GD their engine computer management suuuuucccckkkkeeeeddd

Can you savage any of the upgrades you did on the first DII. Looks like the roof rack, back tires, maybe the rock sliders can be saved. I'd take everything possible because the insurance company problably won't give you crap for it.

Definitely. I'd strip off anything usable and sell it.

unfortunately the insurance company had a tow truck here within 2 hrs of my call. I never had a chance to do anything like pulling my licence plate..

I'd call your insurance company and find out where the vehicle is being keep. They should have no problem with you pulling off your roof rack/rock sliders unless they are covered and will be paying for them when they total the vehicle. My wife wrecked her car and hell we even sucked the full tank of gas out of it. No way was I leaving $70 of gas for some savage yard to use. I'd pull the receipts for all the upgrades while your at it in case they give you ****.

I would also consider getting a 2001 Montero. A Montero is a badass truck.
