Default No Cats On Disco 1

I have a 1996 Disco 1 and keep getting the trouble code P0420. I have linked it to bad Catalytic converters. I was wondering if i remove them temporally if my disco will run ok with out them.

On a 95 you could but on a 96 you have O2 sensors after the cats .
You would end up with more codes.

You can get cats put in a lot cheaper than buying a Y-PIPE.
I picked up a preformance Y-pipe with cat's and can not tell that
it added anything other than it got louder.

Sailor,
Have a concern, you have posted at least 6 different issues today, all the while mentioning you don't/can't spend much money on it and now you want to run without cats till you can afford to replace them. This is a long step from one of your posts regarding wanting to to a 4.6 conversion.
Don't take this wrong, or not, but you sound very young and even more uncertain about what you want to do with your truck.
You might want to take a couple deep breaths and put a list together, by importance as to what needs to be done to get your truck running properly and if you survive that financially then what change/upgrades you want to make cause you are all over the map at this point.
