Default No forward gears only reverse

I need assistance, my disco (2001 gas). has no forward gears. Only reverse. My service engine light is not on. I drained and filled the atf fluid and transfer case. I pulled off the xyz switch. The inside was clean no bad connections nothing all I did was clean the spindle teeth cause it has stuff all over it. That did not help either. Does anyone have any ideas?

Front clutch is worn out. Any recent events/repairs?

I'd suggest pulling the valve body and giving it a good clean. If it sat so long the solenoid and shuttle valves can be stuck from getting corroded by moisture in the trans fluid. You can also try dumping some seafoam trans tune in the a/t and let it run for a while. It would be a good idea to check the fluid pressure as well.

On another note, before you go taking the whole trans apart you can test the solenoids by applying voltage to select pins. With the car jacked up on stands and engine running drop the shifter in D and you should be able to get the wheels to spin (have someone rev the engine up to at least 1200rpm). Different gears take different sets of solenoids to engage. If you google it yiu should be able to get the pinout no problem.

Second test you can do is with valve body off, apply air pressure the fluid ports that go to the pistons. Couple of them you should be able to see engaging, others you wil need to listen for "clunking" sounds.

Lastly i'd check the harness for any rodent action.

The only kind of spin I get is in reverse it doesent try anything in drive or 3/2/1 just like it’s in nuetral. I broke my front drive shaft and had taking that off and turned the cdl nipple to make it 2 wheel drive. I drove the car for about 2 miles before this not driving forward happened: I parked it on a downward slope front end face down. And one week later I insured it and then another week later I registered it then the day after I went to take it to work and then that’s when I had no forward gears. Had the m and s light flashing when I get to certain revs and absolute no movement unless in reverse

So did it sit 2 years after this happened or prior? Do you have a scan tool that can connect to the trans cm?

And I'm guessing you unlocked the center dif and put the TC back in high gear...
