Default No fuel pressure at rail....

Hello everyone,

Newbie here. I have a Disco that has been sitting for a while and after checking all fluids and battery I attempt to start truck and no starty. I checked the power distribution under hood and injectors and fuel pump fuses are good and energized. I also checked the fuel supply at the rail and there is no pressure with the key on.... What next guys and gals.

Sounds like a dead fuel pump.

Cheers,

Pete

I opened the fuel pump access cover and with ignition on and pump unplugged I took a volt meter tothe green wire and was getting @ 4 volts to the plug right before the pump..

If there is power going to the pump that is good news. Plug the wire back into the pump and listen for it to prime when you turn the ignition to ON. If you don't hear the tell tale whining noise it is most likely dead. Being a 1996 model a failed fuel pump is a real possibility.

Cheers,

Pete

Yes pulled the pump and cleared fuel from assembly, hooked test leads directly to motorand it seems to be drawing alot of current but no spinning.... It is not the advanced evap system it looks just like a chevy pump assembly. Is there a cheap way of replacing the motor or freeing it up....

From what I've researched on Rover pumps they are self contained units which require complete replacement. My fuel gauge sender reads half a tank when I fill it all the way. The only solution is to buy a new pump assembly. Not good news for us Rover owners. As you can tell, replacing the assembly is fairly simple.

Cheers,

Pete

# E3270 master brand electric pump motor, used on almost all 90's model chevy fuel injected cars and trucksis the same specs and is motor only for @ 76 bucks. I just did some searching and rather than pay @ 400 dollars i took the assembly apart. I amnow getting cleaned up to go to parts america here in orlando and get the pump, well see what happens. Thanks forthe advise, really.

Jeff
