Default No start but started earlier???

hey guys, new to the forum and ready for any advice!
Today an older woman gave me a 02 Land Rover discovery with 149xxx on it and a rebuild at 100xxx. FOR FREE! The problem was the brake master is leaking which is an easy fix for me, I jumped it off sounded great and no stutter (after sitting for almost a year) got it on the trailer and got back to the house and had to jump it again and let it run for roughly 20 minutes. Once I got it to my shop I couldn’t get it to turn over with a brand new battery so now I see a problem.

It stuttered with starting fluid but wouldn’t officially turn over and run. I just don’t see how it runs great for 20 minutes and than an hour later I got nothing.

My my thought is fuel pump isn’t kicking off and it’s starving for fuel (kind of sounds like it) but if it was just starving for fuel it would have kicked over with starting fluid.

Only codes that pop up are P1843 and P1842

I’ve heard that there are some tricks on some of these rovers just figured I would ask for some experienced help.
Thanks

All fuses are fine under the hood, never checked under the dash now that I think about it

Check to see if you have spark and fuel pressure. Also, if it's been sitting a while...mice can do considerable damage to wire harnesses and such.

Free Rover? That’s awesome.

Download the rave manuals and you can search for those codes and it has a detailed explanation of all systems.

Not sure how much you have read yet, but inspect the driveshaft U Joints for wear, and get an ondII tool to monitor engine temp. The temp gauge on the dash is useless.

Get it running for about $200? You might....but then the next day you wont.
