Starting to get some O2 sensor faults. I got a P0130 the other day, this sensor had been replaced 2 months ago, so I figured it was nothing so I cleared the code. This morning I get a P0132, same sensor but a different fault. Could a sensor have gone bad after only 2 months?

 

Not likely. Has your Rover been stumbling a little when it starts?

 

Slightly perhaps, hard to say for sure.

 

SAI pump has been kicking in as well sometimes when I stop at traffic lights. No other codes thusfar though other than the O2 sensor faults.

 

My newish sensors failed after my 2000 staarted stumbling on the first start of the day. Turns out I have a head gasket leak. Coolant drips into a cylinder overnight then makes it hard to start in the morning. The steam from the coolant puts a whitish hue on the spark plugs and can coat the o2 sensors, making them go bad.

Just one possibility.

 

Heads were done about 20k miles ago, so I don't think it's that, at least I hope it's not!

 

I hope not too. But until you figure it out you might keep an eye in your coolant level. O2 sensors should last longer than yours have.

Have not had a chance to mess with it since I've had the flu all week. But my P0132 code cleared itself. Odd, but it has been warmer here the past few days, seems the cold is making these codes. It is supposed to get cold again by Saturday, and I bet the code will come back.

 

I will go against the LR Forums grain and say that if the code clears itself it is fixed. Congrats!
