Hey y’all, my D2 has bad DS oxygen sensors and I have a junk 97 D1. Is it possible for the oxygen sensors in that truck to work in my d2?

 

The upstream and downstream sensors have different part numbers (not sure if D1's have downstream sensors) so even if they are of the same type you wouldn't be able to switch front to back. Oxygen sensors tend to read "lean" as they age causing the computer to dump more fuel into the system. Given the age, fuel economy, and gas prices these days (at least here in WA) it hardly takes any time at all for a set of new front sensors to pay for themselves. A set of upstream Walker brand (which I've had good luck with) can be had from Rock Auto for $45. My rear sensors are going bad but they are only there to see if the cats are working and I don't care, so I just reset them on my scangauge when I see a rear O2 sensor code pop up. I know none of this actually answers your question but hopefully it helps somehow.

 

Might as well try it, But I found all four sensors new on amazon for about $75. If yall can look at and see if they are any good that would be helpful, I know it might not be the best but I just need to pass emissions.

 

I wouldn’t gamble on a no name brand from Amazon. Stick with walker, Bosch or another reputable brand listed on this board. You don’t want to buy and swap them twice.

 

I second zski128 having already gambled and lost. I had one bad upstream on my '99 D2 and bought the set off of Amazon. Now it throws codes as if all 4 02 sensors are bad despite them all being new. Also on the Amazon sensors, the two downstream ones have the clips reversed so while the plug itself lines up and connects, the hold down clip does not secure them (electrical tape is doing the job for now until I crawl back under their and replace them with name brand sensors).

 

I tried the Walker sensors and had too many problems. Switched to Bosch and everything works as advertised.
