Ok, so had a chance to go over the issues with my mechanic yesterday. He even agreed to let me do a bit of the labor in his shop free of charge. So while I have it up on the lift, going to bite the bullet and replace all the seals and gaskets on the lower engine, transfer case, and differentials to get rid of even the minor leaks. I expect her to leak some, she is a LR, but want het to last as well. Also replacing the heater hose plate, coil pack, rubber rear prop shaft coupling, and thermostat for piece of mind. Any other advice out there for stuff to get done? Trying to maximize my time driving her, and minimize the repair shop for the time being.

everyone has there own opinion so you will have to do some reasearch as you will be the one driving it...not someone here on the forums. i can tell you that if i ever rebuild my 4.6...which goes against my better judgemnet as ...i want diesel....i would go blue.... there is a LR mechanic who did a rebuild on his with top hats and bunch of other stuff and he used the LR blue..well BMW...it's basicly the same, and he put on 150,000 with zero issues and he 4 wheeled it also. But again, your truck...your decision..Trust me...people will blast me for mentioning the blue....

keep us updated....Chris

UPDATE: Finally got Rover back home, and been driving her for a few days now. No more leaking coolant, not a drip, or even a sniff of it after you get out of the truck. Also the oil leaks seems to be no more as well, not even the slightest drip. Though after the money I just spent fixing her up... I would hope there wouldn't be anything like that. Fixed the manifold gaskets, coolant flush, redone radiator, new thermostat, oil pan gasket, new heater hose and seals, redone all seals and gaskets in transfer case, front and rear differential pinions, both ignition coils, and new high performance plugs and wires. Good to have her back though finally, now time to hook up the boat and head off camping again. Thanks for all the advice and info, and happy trails.

I was going to put the prices in there, but forgot. I paid about $1000 for parts and $1000 for shop labor. I know the shop manager pretty well and did some of the labor myself, and gave me a 1 year warranty on all parts and labor. So for $2000 and all that fixed, pretty good deal. As a comparison I called the local Dealership for a quote, and was nearly $5000... For the $3K I saved, worth every bit of the sweat and beer I put into doing some of the labor myself. Cheers.
