Default OBDII recomendations?

I need to invest in both a Bluetooth and code reader so I don't have to drive to AutoZone twice a week..

So which ones do you guys use or recommend??

Are there any specific for Land Rovers?? Send some links please..

Why not get an ultra-gauge? They'll read and clear codes along with setting the temp alarm, etc....and the price isn't bad

I was truly amazed at how cheap the ultra gauge is. I had never paid it any attention till today and was surprised at the value for the money. Admittedly the blue tooth reader and the app is about 1/3 the cost, but I really like what the ultra-gauge offers and with a DII having the actual engine temp is a must!

Amazon.com: Autel (MaxiScan MS309) OBD-II Code Reader / Scan Tool: Automotive Amazon.com: Autel (MaxiScan MS309) OBD-II Code Reader / Scan Tool: Automotive

This one is pretty nice for the price. I just got it a couple months ago to replace the even cheaper version that got stolen out of my rover. This one has read and cleared every code I've had so far.(not abs) it also does a pretty good live read for the price.

I use an Autel al619 . Can read and clear all OBD2 codes and ABS codes (namely land rover ones)

Reasonable price and easy to update software.

I use the Scangauge II.
Admittedly, it was mainly due to the ability to change the backlighting to match the existing lighting in my DII (green). I am **** about that sort of thing. Also, I had had positive experience with the original Scangauge.
I also think it blends with the rest of the dash well. I have it mounted under the radio/climate control stack.

Ordered one of these. Can let you know how it goes 'out of the box'. When it turns up. Been ages now!

Do you HAVE to update these things?

It actually looks like a bit of a PITA. DL software, find a card reader i dont have, blah blah.

How much updating can it need?
