Odd wires running from fuse box
Hey guys, I've had a 96 disco for a while now, and just recently purchased a 2001 a few days ago. Doing some basic look-overs today I noticed two odd wires running out of two separate fuses within the engine bay fuse box. It seems like some quick aftermarket attempt to power something or fix a problem?
The red wire runs into the #3 fuse from the left, and the green wire runs into the #4 fuse from the right. Which apparently are Direction Signals/Hazards, and Headlight washers respectively.
Here is a link to the picture I took:

Hm, that's weird. Doesn't seem like a smart thing to do, running power from some random fuse locations. I tried tracing the two wires but they just go into the firewall and somewhere in the dash that I can't see. I'll try removing them and seeing if anything changes.
If you check what those fuses are for it will better tell you what they tried to run.
Are they switched power fuses or non switched?
Switched would be something like the radio, it only gets power when the key is on.
Non switched means it gets power all the time, like the headlights.
My wifes Volvo had a car phone installed when we bought it (the old style car phone if you are old enough to remember those) and they tapped power from the fuse box just like on your truck.
When I drove semi we tapped power from the fuse box for our CB's so they come on or off with the ignition key.
I wouldnt worry about it.
